Antonio Karam is a Mexico-born music therapist, multi-instrumentalist, and sound journey facilitator based in Aotearoa New Zealand. His work weaves together therapeutic practice, live music, and culturally grounded sound experiences, drawing from his Mexican roots and a deep respect for Indigenous ways of knowing.
With a background in community music, percussion, and breath-based practices, Antonio creates immersive sound journeys using Native American flutes, voice, percussion, and ambient textures. His sessions invite listeners into spaces of rest, reflection, and reconnection—supporting emotional regulation, presence, and collective wellbeing.
As a trained music therapist, Antonio’s approach is relational, trauma-aware, and grounded in lived experience. His sound journeys are shaped by years of work with children, adults, and elders in educational, clinical, and community settings, as well as by his ongoing academic research exploring breath, culture, and sound as pathways for healing and connection.
