Sallie Dunford, is a Hawkes Bay-based street artist with a rich and diverse background and passion for the natural world.
As a self-taught artist, her artistic practice has flourished over the past two decades, particularly in community and educational settings across the North Island of New Zealand. Sallie has collaborated extensively with local and regional councils, schools, and early childhood organizations, often creating murals that involve and benefit tamariki (children) and rangatahi (youth). Since 2017, Sallie has been involved with the Conscious Festival Network. Her roles have included creative coordinator for family zones and arts villages, and offering live art experiences as a mural artist.
Sallies current focus in her studio is a project called "50 Plus Shades of Green" which aims to highlight the concept of "Art from our Heart" within the community.
Sallie believes that everyone has the potential to be an artist, simply follow your heart and the Art will show its self.
