Lehali

music

Lehali is a Pacific-Pop 21-year-old artist, born and raised in Kirikiriroa. She is also a current 4th year University student, rangatahi advocate outside of being a singer and artist. Her nana came from Ureparapara in the beautiful islands of Vanuatu and was born in a small village called Lehali, which is the whakapapa that inspired her artist name.

Lehali released her first album in 2023 titled GROWING PAINS, which she self wrote and produced straight out of high school in her room with little to no equipment - just a passion and need to voice these pieces. She was selected to represent Aotearoa with her sister at the 2023 Chengdu International Sister Cities Youth Music Festival, performing her original songs across Chengdu. She is currently working on her second album - which is a blend of her two worlds, music and youth advocacy and just released her second music video for the indigenous pop ballad, ‘Her Name is Kanaky’, which is the debut single off her upcoming album.
